Our little move.

We have not been very active on our blog lately. A lot of things happened, so we were too busy to sit down and write a new story.
The rental started end of March of the apartment on Via Punica. And at the house at Las Salinas the first renters arrived in May (where we were staying with Claudia and PJ in the winter) and we still did not have a place to live for the Summer. A lot of stress when we finally found a nice place in the centre, but we had to wait 8 weeks before we got the keys.
In the meantime I went for a second time to China to start the production of the cushions, where a lot of things went wrong with the shipping. We bought a new puppy French bulldog, partied during Ibiza Gaypride, had a lovely gay wedding in Segovia and went to Madrid for 8 days.
Right now I am in Holland where I sold my shares of the MAX Models building to my ex-business partner and again went to a lovely gay wedding, this time in Esbeek.
This morning I was reading a blog article of a dear friend Karin Reintjes, who lives with her husband Stefan on Ibiza (like us, for a bit more than 1 year) and I got inspired to write an article again.
So first about our “little move”….
We found a nice second floor apartment on Calle Archiduque Salvador with two bedrooms. For those who know Ibiza centre well, it is close to our apartment at Via Punica and the street crosses Via Romana. Located behind the Rosario Hospital, just where the steep stairs go to Hotel Cenit.
We fell in love right away with the amount of light in the living!
And everything is just renovated and painted, with airco built in. It does not have a balcony, but a big terrace on the roof which we have to share with the neighbor who lives on the first floor.
A lot of the furniture we had already ordered during the 8 weeks we had to wait for the keys. So in two days we were almost finished furnishing.
Except for the couch which arrived the latest. And than it did not fit the staircase! So we had to order a crane to get the couch inside the house through our window.
And also super news is that we could rent the ground floor. I will share it with the son of the owner, who has a company organizing light (lanterns, candles) and styling props at events. He thought my cushions and art were a nice combination with his candles. His grandparents had a grocery store and his mother is a painter and we both like the art and vintage grocery articles which were still stocked in the garage.
The big iron wall unit who were terribly rusted and oxidized I am now sanding and varnishing to stock my collection of cushions arriving in August.
Sunday night I fly home from Rotterdam airport and than I have only two weeks left to finish painting the ground floor and put all cushions on my webshop. Lots of work to do! But still I hope I have time to write the last updates about our new dog, Ibiza and Madrid Gaypride and the two wedding parties.
