Ibiza seen by a nine-year old.
Last week Johans sister-in-law Irene and her son Thijmen visited us. A few weeks before Irene sent me a WhatsApp, if I knew something nice to do for her nine year old kid. But October is kind of off-season, so a lot of public swimming pools and other touristic things are closed for the season.
“Do you think he likes to take photos with my professional camera and afterwards photoshop them on the big MAC?” I asked her. She thought it was a good idea!
And Thijmen really liked photography. On a tour to a cave at San Miguel he was the only kid in the group and the only person with such a big camera and lens. Some days he made almost 400 pictures and at home he choose the best ones in Adobe Bridge by giving them one or five stars. After that he only photoshopped the best ones with five stars. He loved to add more color or contrast and was using the typical Photoshop terms in English, like Exposure, Clarify and Saturation. He also has a good feeling for subjects and composition. Sometimes typical children subjects like his uncle Johan, our dogs, boats and planes. But also architecture or things you don’t expect from a nine-year old. One day I had to go with our French bulldog to the vet and he joined me and took pictures.
So here are Thijmen’s favorites. The titles under the pictures are given by him too.
And here some pictures “behind the scenes” of Thijmen with the big professional camera:
